Das weltweite Interesse an Hegel ist nach wie vor intensiv und ungebrochen. Jenseits von "Hegelianismus" und oberflkächlicher Aktualisierung bleibt Hegels authentisches Denken in seinem Problembewusstsein und Problembestnd bedeutsam. Trotz großer Fortschritte in den letzten Jahrzehnten konnte Hegels Werk jedoch bisher weder vollständig ediert noch wegen seiner Komplexität hinreichend angeeignet werden. Das Jahrbuch will zur historischen und systematischen Erschließung der Philosophie Hegels beitragen durch Editionen neuer Hegeltexte, Interpretationen und bibliographische Berichterstattung. Sowohl die Wirkungsgeschichte als auch die Ausstrahlung der Philosophie Hegels in andere Wissenschaften finden besondere Beachtung. Die internationale Ausrichtung des Jahrbuches zeigt sich in einem Beirat von Hegelforschern aus zur Zeit 18 Ländern.

International interest in Hegel has been continuous and intense to this day. Beyond "Hegelianism" and superficial updating, Hegel's own thoughts remains important in the range of problems it addresses. Despite great progress in recent decades, however, Hegel's work has neither been edited completely nor, due to its compexity, sufficiently understood. The year-book intends to contribute to the historical and systematic accessibility of Hegel's philosophy throught the publication of not yet edited texts of Hegel, interpretations of Hegel's philosophy, and bibliographical reports. Hegel's influence both in philosophy and in other disciplines will recreive particular emphasis.
