Platón: Los Diálogos Tardíos.
Actas del [First] Symposium Platonicum, Mexico. Edited by Conrado Eggers Lan. 2001. 176 S. 32,50 Euro. 15,5 x 23 cm. Hardcover. 3-88345-631-4. (International Plato Studies Bd. 3)
The main purpose of the organisers of the Mexican Symposium was to encourage Latin-American scholars to discuss Platonic philosophy at an advanced level, since Plato is the Greek philosopher who has attracted most scholarly endeavours in that part of the world. Despite the organiser's lack of experience, and the small number of participants, the idea of continuing with Platonic symposias acros during the meeting in Mexico, and led directly to a second symposium at Perugia, and to the founding of an International Plato Society, with a third symposium held at Bristol, and a fourth symposium held at Granada. This volume documents the birth of what is clearly destined to be a permanent and important contribution to the study of ancient philosophy.
